Trusler Times

I have lots of posting to catch up with from the summer, a couple birthdays and other stuff but I will do that later. I just have to share these pictures because well, it’s only been 1 hour and people are already asking to see them! hehe

Yep, today is the first day of school! April is in 4th grade and Abby is in kindergarten, gulp, can you believe it? They are both going to the same school and the kindergarten is all day so they will be there the same hours. (7 whole hours!!) Both girls were very excited to go to school. Our neighbor friends showed up at 6:30am, school starts at 7:30…anxious much?

Abby was very excited…until we walked in her class and she did the clingy leg thing. Her teacher noticed and asked if she could be her helper. Abby finally broke free from the leg and helped her teacher pass out letters to all the children. She was fine when I left and I am sure she will do great. And I actually didn’t get tears, a little bit of a watery eye but I was quite proud that I could walk out of the classroom and still make eye contact. I remember with April I was a blubbering fool and had to hurry out of class so no one could see my tears.

April did great too, she always does! She wanted to walk to school with her buddies on the street so being the cool mom that I am (not!) I let them. They all begged me not to embarrass them if I saw them at school. Am I really that bad? She is going to do super this year. She is very excited about her teacher this year. (she reminds April of my friend Clippie Heather…I think it’s the stylish shorty hair do!)

Yep, Grandpa turned 60 in June and we all celebrated!

He’s still got it…even at 60! Love ya Dad!

It rained just about every night we were there. It was beautiful all day and then pow, it rained at night and was fine again the next day. Alex won the dad of the day award for taking April out for a walk in the rain. (oh yeah, Grandpa gets the Gpa award for going on walks almost every night with April…tonight she told me, I really had fun with Grandpa.)

My kid, I am telling you. Every time the camera comes out she seems to strike a pose.

Oh, if you are out traveling and see a fan, Abby is now collecting fans from “all over the world”. She has 2 from Hawaii and one from Arizona so far. hehe

We went to Gaylord’s for a fantastic breakfast buffet. Yum! And we get to go on a tour of the plantation on a horse drawn carriage…so cool!

We stayed RIGHT on the beach so there was plenty of time to play there.

And April…did I mention the kids were nearly perfect the whole trip! What a treat, love those girls!

I just spent an amazing week with 2 of my favorite dad’s. My dad who is turning 60 this week, go Dad! And the dad to my kiddos. Both amazing and we are so lucky to have cool Dad’s in our family! Happy Father’s Day! (and to my bro now who is celebrating his 1st Father’s Day!)
