2nd place!

April 30th, 2009

Sorry I haven’t updated the blog lately! I need to work on that!

I had to pop on here to brag a little about Miss April. She qualified for the Gifted Education program, which we are totally proud of! Tonight they had a Gifted Academic Fair and she came in 2nd place overall!! We are so proud…her project….Bos Primigenius Taurus Flatulence and the effects of it. (That’s COW FARTS!) Her project was a hit and she did a great job answering questions. Go April!!

crafty girl

February 17th, 2009

Today is Abby’s sweet teacher Ms. Brown’s birthday. Abby has been talking about it for a long time now, in fact the kids have been counting down! Of course we had to make something for her and I let Abby pick what she wanted to do.
She picked a plain wooden plaque and got creative! She painted it pink and then we used my new Cricut cutting machine to cut out the award ribbon and the letter’s. And then it got fun, she decoupaged the paper onto the wood with a totally cool Glitter Mod Podge. It turned out Glitterific…just like we like it!

Abby…80’s style

February 13th, 2009

There were a bunch of 80’s pics of me posted over on Facebook this week, total crack up. (thanks Cortnee!!)
Abby asked me to do 80’s hair for her. I tried my best…lots of hairspray and blow dryer action!

100 days of school!

January 20th, 2009

Today was a big celebration for Miss Abby! It was the 100 days of school celebration for her Kindergarten class. She has been talking about this for weeks because today “Zero the Hero” was going to visit the class! I guess Zero the Hero would leave a treat on every 10th, 20th, 30th, etc day of school but would never show his face until today…

Snowy weekend in Flagstaff

January 20th, 2009

We finally made it to the snow! Alex has been wanting us to go with the kids for years and we finally did it a couple weeks ago. We drove to Flagstaff and stayed the night there. It was the girls first time playing in the snow so it was very exciting!

Here are a few pictures:

We went to a snow play area and did lots of sledding. The girls had a blast and we plan to make it an annual event! Fun times:)

Christmas Musicals

December 19th, 2008

The girls had their Christmas musicals this week and they were so cute! They were both super excited for it and we were excited to watch. I don’t know about you but whenever I see my kids doing something that I know they are so excited about it makes me well up inside with joy. Sounds corny, but what can I say.

Alright, here’s some pictures.

April’s show was on Monday night. Here are the girls (and our friend Casey) posing before we left.

The 4th grade performed Hot Cross Buns and Mary Had a Little Lamb on their recorders, April totally looked like she knew what she was doing. So cute!
This picture makes me smile because it reminds me of her 1st Christmas musical in Long Beach and that joy when she found us in the audience and just kept waving during the show. She still was so excited to see us (Granny, Dad, me and Abby) in the audience cheering her on.

Abby’s show was on Tuesday night, she was SOOO excited!
Not sure why we (me and the girls!) always open our mouths when we are doing pics.

Here is Abby with her teacher Ms. Brown, Abby just adores her! And I am so pleased to have such a fun teacher for her first year!

April and Granny, waiting for Abby’s show to start. They were color coordinated:)

Now as Abby got on the stage, she spotted us and did that “I’m so excited to be on stage” wave. And then she starts jumping up and down because she is so excited. And THEN she bends down, grabs her dress and pulls it over her head! It had to be up there for a good 20 seconds. Yes, that was our kid showing off her stuff!! Later she tells me that she was just trying to show us her dress…we saw it…haha!

We got to babysit Miss Daphne last weekend while Eric & Melinda were in Vegas celebrating Melinda’s 30th birthday. (Happy bday Auntie!!)
Daphne was a breeze, so cuddly and sweet. I’ll happily watch her anytime!
